Plant Layout Paradigm

The approach to designing a plant layout is to reverse engineer the purposes and performance of the facility. Oil and gas facilities require equipment to be arranged in certain flow process direction. An analysis of the fluids being processed in the plant often determine the type of equipment to be installed. From these steps a preliminary layout can be generated.

3 Basic Concepts Considered during Plant Layout Design

The primary principles which dictate the arrangement of features are the Process Flow, Spacing Requirements and Safety.
