f41 Parallel System Stop Error on Solar PV Inverters – Troubleshooting

Introduction

There are certain equipment which have inherent deficiencies and typical failure modes. For example there is a certain car manufacturer who’s wheel axles usually disconnected on the road while making a turn. A proper FMEA, failure mode and effects analysis may have resolved this defect. However, on many series of this vehicle, the problem persisted. This is similar to the f41 error on this brand of solar PV inverter.

On user manuals from inverter manufactures, the FMEA have resulted in a list of faults and error codes which are documented. It will interest you to know that some of these errors do not have a solution. Secondly, the other way to provide a solution is for a customer to acquire the services of a specialist from the home country of the OEM, original equipment manufacturer. These are huge costs and lead to disappointment in implementing solar power.

We recently experienced this f41 error on a solar PV project. It was a challenging period. Imagine having all connections ‘seemingly intact’ only for the whole power system shutdown within 10 minutes. Such a grievous number of days. Upon realising that this was a global problem for users of this inverter, it inspired some confidence and courage. The resolve was to find solutions. And it indeed worked. The video below provides a detailed troubleshooting process for resolving the f41 error on this brand of solar PV inverters.
